UHI That Sandia Report
I've said it before, there are many facets to UHI, Ultra High Risk (Upper Head Injection). Well, I decided to go after the proprietary Sandia report during May 1966, and I managed to get it. It is very difficult to get evidence, but it is a fact that the NRC made certain that Westinghouse knew that somebody was after that report. And it was not that long after I finally got the report that I was given my walking papers by a great organization that is funded by our electric power suppliers.
Anyway, following is some documention of my request and the response from our NRC. Click to enlarge.
Double trouble, LOFT and rubble; Zirc-X burn and vessel bubble!
"It is apparent, however, that more experiments with Zircaloy cladding are needed to overcome the impression left from Run 9573." AEC Commissioners, January 28, 1973.
